Heavy Equipment Operator

Overview:
CMT Site Solutions is a small service-disabled veteran owned Colorado company established in 2020. CMT continues to grow and expand its operations. CMT Site Solutions is primarily a civil construction company, specializing in environmental (soil) remediation, structure demolition, excavation, and stormwater management. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Equipment Operator (heavy) to join our team. As an Equipment Operator, you will play a crucial role in assisting with various construction projects, ensuring the projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to high quality standards. Job Description:

  • Ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating various pieces of heavy mobile equipment, including but not limited to skid steers, excavators, backhoes, and loaders for use in demolition, excavation, trenching, soil remediation, backfilling, compacting, and overall site grading activities in support of efficient completion of projects.
  • Conducts equipment safety checks, routine inspections, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment as necessary 
  • Transports materials and tools to the job site utilizing trailers
  • Cleans and prepares construction sites for project start, during performance, and at project completion ensuring proper disposal of materials and storage of equipment
  • Loads and unloads materials and equipment
  • Travel may be required depending on work location.  However, CMT Site Solutions is based in Lakewood, Colorado 
  • Teach and mentor co-workers on equipment operation
  • Operate hand tools and power tools under supervision
  • Follows safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe work environment
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of heavy equipment operating experience
  • Preferred experience in the maintenance and operation of mobile equipment, construction equipment and/or equipment
  • Ability to document daily tasks with detailed notes and pictures
  • Displays a strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability and willingness to learn company systems, policies, and procedures quickly
  • Willingness to go above and beyond with a customer focused mentality
  • Effective and clear written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to read, understand, and implement information from engineered plans including but not limited to grades, slopes, and fall 
  • Valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and a safe driving record
  • A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred, but not required
  • Drug Screen and Criminal Background Check required
  • Must have the ability to pass background checks for State and Federal projects.
  • Willingness to work outside, in all types of weather
  • Attention to details and good decision-making skills
  • Excited to learn new skills and enjoy working within a close and supportive team
  • Punctual, professional, honest, reliable, and exhibits a positive attitude daily
  • Able to work in confined and cluttered spaces (applicable training provided)
  • Capable of climbing and keeping balance on uneven areas
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks on a regular basis
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour based on experience

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week, overtime as required

Schedule:
